1. Cite key facts about global climate change and increasing threats to families and children.
2. Recognize key elements of a pediatrician's role in mitigation, i.e., reduced greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions, and adaptation for their patients and families, i.e., humans adjusting to warmer
weather and consequent extreme weather events.
3. Recognize the role of medical centers and hospitals in overconsumption of energy and
materials, with ideas for decreasing the GHG footprint of modern medicine.
4. Develop new ways to reduce their own family's GHG footprint in their communities.
