Evaluation of the CME Activity

Following the completion of a CME activity, participants must complete a brief evaluation of the activity in MiCME to receive credit.

The activity evaluation is essential for three reasons:

  • To measure the positive impact of the activity on real-life patient care.
  • To provide feedback to the faculty planner that their activity (through its design and execution) achieved the expected improvement in physician knowledge, competence, performance and/or patient outcomes.
  • To ensure the activity was free from bias (e.g. through the undue influence of commercial support or financial relationships).

The standard post-activity evaluation hosted by MiCME and completed by all participants assesses these essential elements required to award CME credit.

Faculty Planners are encouraged to evaluate their activity by additional means (if appropriate). For instance, a questionnaire could be sent to all participants three months after the completion of an activity to assess meaningful changes in clinical care.
