Description:
Appropriate prenatal care improves maternal and fetal health, reduces maternal mortality and morbidity and fetal loss, and reduces preterm birth, intrauterine growth restriction, congenital abnormalities, and failure to thrive. This CME activity synthesizes recommendations for prenatal care based on scientific evidence, recommendations of the U.S. Public Health Service, clinical judgment regarding effectiveness of identifying and modifying risk, and the success of medical and psychological interventions.

Educational Objectives:
Participants in this CME activity will understand and be able to implement evidence-based cost-effective clinical strategies for optimal prenatal care for fetal and maternal health and how to implement those recommendations in routine care.
