Educational Objectives

Lecture: Neurocognitive and Social Cognitive Correlates of Social Functioning in Individuals with Psychosis and Those At-risk
- Learners will be able to describe the social cognitive and neurocognitive correlates of social functioning.
- Learners will be able to describe two methodologies for measuring social functioning in psychosis spectrum populations.

Lecture: Social Determinants of Health in Epilepsy and Implications for Cognitive Outcomes
- Learners will be able to define social determinants of health (SDOH) and discuss relevance for patients with epilepsy
- Learners will be able to examine ways to assess SDOH and identify changes to clinical practice to address SDOH

Lecture: The Relationship Between Attention and Social Problems in Survivors of Pediatric Cancers
- Learners will be able to recognize social late effects in survivors of pediatric cancer.
- Learners will be able to identify aspects of attention related to social deficits in survivors of pediatric cancer

Lecture: Suicide Risk Evaluations and Subsequent Outcomes Across VA
- Describe warning signs, risk factors, and protective factors that predict suicide and other outcomes in VA.
- Apply findings from a national cohort-based study to their suicide risk assessments.

Lecture: Social Network Neuromodulation in Behavioral Variant Frontotemporal Dementia: A Pilot Study
- Learners should be able to describe the promise and preliminary evidence for transcranial direct current stimulation as an exploratory intervention for individuals with behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia.
- Learners will be able to discuss the merits of non-invasive transcranial stimulation and a proposed neural mechanism of change within neurodegenerative disease.
