Orthopedic injuries are prevalent in children and can result in hospitalization and damage. The number of accidental injuries among children increases every year, leading to a huge burden on communities and health institutions.
If you are a part of the primary care team of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, or pediatric/adolescent care providers, this education is targeted for you. This course will be delivered virtually and will use case studies, and a Q & A session to answer all your questions on what tools are available to treat kids with various orthopedic injuries and how to approach pain management with this special population of patients.
At the conclusion of this presentation, attendees should be able assess and manage pain appropriately for patients that present with orthopedic injuries such as sprains and fractures; and to utilize the current non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic approaches to pain management in pediatric patients.
